Squeezed Out

An interesting article from today's Times about the competitive university system in India....

Squeezed Out in India

100% on an end-of-high school exam?  Inconceiveable!

  1. So if you circle the wrong bubble all your dreams are crushed? That's harsh... Imagine how much cheating must go on during that test. And how many kids get wrecked by stress, pressure, and disappointment. :/. Though I don't think there are that many people who lament getting into an Ivy.... But hey, the US motto is "Hey World, send all your smart people here." So, we benefit from it in a way.

  2. 1. Why were you on the blog at midnight last night?
    2. India seems to take education way more seriously than we do.

  3. Many Asian countries who may surpass the US as a superpower (even our allies like India and Japan) base and almost force jobs to be revolve around the advancement of their own country. To me this sounds a bit fascist, which is what we used to stand against. I find this to be a bit ironic. But I guess this is why foreigners come here and contribute to our society instead of their own. I'm sorry, but I find this hilarious.
